I’m a fan of a good jam-packed green juice. But when I want to make a green drink at home, I opt for a smoothie. My go-to recipe provides a healthy serving of veggies- without the bitter taste.
1 frozen banana (or 2/3 of a large banana) I like to peel them, break into 3″ chunks and freeze. That way, you don’t need ice in your smoothie and the smaller pieces blend up easily.
About 10 ounces of almond milk. The measurement doesn’t have to be exact. Start with a cup or so, and add more if the smoothie is too thick. I use unsweetened unflavored- but I’m sure chocolate or vanilla would taste great!
1-2 BIG handfuls of spinach (I almost fill the blender)
1 tablespoon peanut butter (or any other nut butter)
1 heaping teaspoon of raw honey
additions— spoonful of chia seeds and flax seeds.
It’s also a great base for other recipes:
Take out the peanut butter and add berries,
Replace the almond milk with yogurt (to make it creamier), or any other milk.
